Wednesday night the 25th March saw the final Wednesday night OTB Twilight racing for the season conducted just off the SYC breakwater. A good mixed fleet comprising International Cadets, 420s and a lone 29er faced the starter for a short and very shifty two-lap windward leeward race. The night’s RO, Phil Strong and his merry band of volunteers on Endeavour 11 were treated to a glorious evening with little wind and the second race was abandoned before starting. Winners on the night were (Cadets) Marcus Sasson and Angus Rae in Striker and in the 420s Joel Aulich and crew (?) in Just Do It. Considering the antics of our OTB sailors on the water after the racing and the wonderful camaraderie at the barbecue, one could only conclude that the real winner on the night was OTB sailing at Sandringham Yacht Club.
